As of 12 UTC this morning, low pressure is located over New Brunswick, Canada at 973 mb and will continue to strengthen as it moves north into the western Gulf of Saint Lawrence.
● Widespread gale-force winds are ongoing across much of the Mid-Atlantic and New England waters this morning with some storm-force winds to 50 kt starting to show up southeast of Georges Bank.
● The storm-force winds will continue to expand in the outer Mid-Atlantic waters the rest of today, then pull east of the waters after 03 UTC 03/08.
Peak winds near and just north of the Gulf Stream will be around 50-55 kt with gusts to 65 kt possible.
● Some low-topped, strong thunderstorms are possible in the cold air coincident with the stronger winds and just to the south over the Gulf Stream through early afternoon with gusts approaching 60 kt.
● Gales will continue tonight through Saturday in the wake of the departing low pressure system as a strong high moves in from the west. The winds will finally start to diminish by mid-Sunday morning back...
