El PASO, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Paso del Norte border crossing seized 69.75 pounds of methamphetamine on Aug. 13.
The narcotics were discovered after a CBP canine initially indicated the presence of narcotics in a 2008 Ford Expedition with Mexican license plates. A non-intrusive inspection was conducted through Z-Portal (a high-throughput, drive-through inspection system for large trucks, buses and cargo containers) yielding anomalies within the gas tank area. Upon further inspection by CBP officers, 60 bundles of methamphetamine were discovered hidden inside the gas tank of the vehicle.

At the White House today, President Donald J. Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a host of European leaders to discuss how the ongoing violent war between Russia and Ukraine might be resolved. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also attended those meetings.
Two separate meetings were held at the White House: first, between Trump and Zelenskyy, and then a second meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy, NATO and European leaders, and the presidents of five NATO nations.
Trump said if talks go well, a trilateral discussion between the U.S., Ukraine and Russia is a possibility.
"I think if everything works out well today, we'll have a trilat and I think there will be a reasonable chance of ending the war when we do that," Trump said. "And we want to get it ended. And we want it to end [well] for everybody ... the people of Ukraine have suffered incredibly."

WASHINGTON—The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) dismantled a violent, criminal illegal alien-run massive human trafficking ring in Nebraska. This illegal alien run trafficking operation was operating out of motels and eyebrow salons across the Omaha metro area.
On August 12, ICE rescued 27 victims, including 10 children under the age of 12, from horrific conditions and exploitation. Victims were crammed into cockroach infested rooms and trapped in squalor with no basic sanitation or safety. Children and adults were being sex trafficked, and the motel was also being used for drug trafficking operations.
