Project team members will be available to answer questions
PHOENIX – An open house scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5, in Miami will allow the public to learn more about an Arizona Department of Transportation project that will replace the US 60 bridge spanning Pinto Creek.
The meeting is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Bullion Plaza Cultural Center and Museum, 150 N. Plaza Circle in Miami. While there will be no formal presentation, project team members will be available to share information and answer questions.
The $22.7 million project, tentatively scheduled to begin in September and last approximately two years, will construct a new bridge adjacent to the existing one between Miami and Superior. It will then remove the current bridge.
The current bridge will remain in service until the new bridge is complete, but significant traffic impacts are expected at times during construction, including: intermittent lane closures throughout the project; early in the project, closures of US 60 scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; later in the project, overnight closures of US 60 to set steel girders and pour the concrete bridge deck; and a closure of US 60 lasting several days when the new bridge is nearly complete.
