PHOENIX – Outdoor recreation enthusiasts of all ages can learn more about the Highline Trail Restoration Initiative on April 23 at the Pine Trailhead in Pine, Arizona.
Staff from the Tonto National Forest, along with community partners, are hosting an informative event from noon to 2 p.m. Attendees can meet representatives from local collaborators, implementation partners, and Forest Service staff who are working together to restore the iconic trail.
Planned activities include:
Wild Arizona will lead a nature walk highlighting historical tidbits of information
National Forest Foundation (NFF) will lead a nature scavenger hunt with giveaways
The Forest Service’s Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl will be available for pictures
Subject matter experts will be on site to answer questions about the restoration initiative and related environmental topics. A Highline Trail map and information display also will be set up.
