Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to release the following information regarding the recovery of a body in the Pinto Valley Bridge Area on Hwy 60 west of Globe.
On June 15, 2016, at approximately 7:09 a.m., the Gila County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding a male subject standing on the Pinto Valley Bridge. Gila County Deputies were dispatched along with Arizona Department of Public Safety Troopers, Globe and Tri-City Fire Departments and Arizona Department of Transportation. Upon the Deputies arrival the male subject was seen jumping from the bridge.
Currently, Highway 60 is restricted to one lane and could be closed at any time as efforts are made to recover the body. The identity of the subject will be released once notification has been made.
This case is still an ongoing investigation and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
