Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to release the following information regarding the recovery of a body in the Pinto Valley Bridge Area on Hwy 60 west of Globe.
On March 15, 2015, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Department of Public Safety contacted the Gila County Sheriff’s Office for assistance with a vehicle parked on the Pinto Valley Bridge with no one located inside or around the vehicle. Deputies responded to assist as well as Tri-City Fire Department, Canyon Fire Department, and Globe Fire Department.
A body was located in the Pinto Creek Area beneath the Bridge. The identity of the subject has not yet been verified. Recovery efforts are ongoing and this is still an active investigation.
