On October 24, 2014, at approximately 7:50 a.m. the Gila County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call stating that there was a downed aircraft. Gila County Deputies, Sheriff’s Office Posse, Tri-City Fire Department and Ambulance, Canyon Fire Department, and Native Air arrived on scene.
The pilot identified as Skip Walker from Tucson, Arizona was the only one on board and was airlifted to a Tucson Hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be on site investigating the crash scene. Further information may be released as it becomes available.
