CBP aims to increase law enforcement recruitment with highly visible transit

WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection has rolled out a new marketing and advertising campaign in and around Washington, D.C., and the Pentagon, “D.C. Transit,” aimed at recruiting and hiring more law enforcement personnel to meet the demands of the mission.

The campaign runs from April 7 to June 29, which falls during peak tourist season in Washington, D.C. This coincides with the National Cherry Blossom Festival and spring break travel, allowing CBP to reach a wider audience and maximize visibility and engagement.

Also, during this time is National Police Week, which takes place in May. Law enforcement agencies from across the country gather in Washington, D.C., to honor officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Part of the campaign will demonstrate CBP’s support and solidarity with law enforcement, paying respect to fallen officers and honoring their courage and sacrifice.

“Advertising on public transportation will provide CBP a unique opportunity to recruit experienced law enforcement officers,” said Assistant Commissioner, Human Resources Management Andrea Bright. “Their background and skills make them a valuable addition to the team, allowing them to easily adapt to the culture of CBP. This enables them to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the agency right away.”

Campaign ads are strategically placed in high-traffic areas to ensure maximum exposure and brand recognition. This includes 10 wrapped buses, 22 live, digital billboards, and 15 digital, transit shelter locations throughout the area.

It is important for the national security of the United States that CBP is adequately staffed. CBP operates in all 50 states, in over 50 countries, and at 328 ports of entry to protect the American people, safeguard our borders, and enhance the nation’s economic prosperity.
