When Marine Corps 1st Lt. Frank Stanley Reasoner was surrounded by insurgents deep in enemy territory in Vietnam, he did his best to save the handful of men who were trapped with him. Reasoner lost his life trying to protect them, but his devotion to duty led to a posthumous Medal of Honor.

Reasoner was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Spokane, Washington, to Daisy and Carl Reasoner. He had two younger siblings, Carrie and Mickey.

TUCSON, Arizona – Border Patrol agents, responding to a 911 call south of Three Points, rescued a Mexican national who was experiencing extreme dehydration and found that his companion was deceased.

In the early evening of July 9, the Arizona Border Intelligence Center received a 911 call for help from an individual who stated he and his companion were lost and had been walking in the southern Arizona desert for six days with little to no food or water. The caller said he was feeling unwell and believed his companion was deceased.

The U.S. Department of Energy has authorized an exchange from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve with ExxonMobil Corporation to address logistical challenges impacting crude oil deliveries to the company’s Baton Rouge refinery.

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) authorized an exchange from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) with ExxonMobil Corporation to address logistical challenges impacting crude oil deliveries to the company’s Baton Rouge refinery. U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright authorized this action to help maintain stable regional supply of transportation fuels across Louisiana and the broader Gulf Coast. This action preserves the SPR’s operational flexibility and will not impact or delay the Department’s ongoing efforts to refill the reserve.

EAGLE PASS, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers at Eagle Pass Port of Entry intercepted more than $517,000 in alleged heroin concealed within a vehicle.

“Our frontline CBP officers utilized their inspection skill, experience, technology and intercepted a sizable amount of heroin during a routine inspection,” said Port Director Pete Beattie, Eagle Pass Port of Entry. “Seizures like these exemplify CBP’s ongoing commitment to upholding our border security mission.”

DETROIT — U.S. Border Patrol agents made a significant arrest of two illegal aliens from El Salvador over the weekend. One of the men admitted to being a member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and spent time in a Salvadorian prison for murder.

EDINBURG, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector seized more than 800 pounds of marijuana and made 15 arrests during enforcement actions over the past four days.

The seizures, conducted between July 5-8, 2025, demonstrate the continued commitment of Border Patrol agents to securing the nation's borders and disrupting transnational criminal organizations operating along the Texas-Mexico border.
