The Small Shipyard Grant Program selected 17 recipients across 12 states to modernize infrastructure, enhance training, & expand apprenticeship programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced the Maritime Administration (MARAD) awarded $8.75 million in grants to revitalize U.S. shipyards and advance America’s maritime dominance. The funding is part of the Small Shipyard Grant program, which supports advanced training, workforce development, and new technologies that strengthen U.S. shipbuilding and repair capabilities.br/>

Clarksdale, Miss. – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) recently awarded approximately $7 million toward 25 workforce development projects supporting economic development and prosperity throughout the lower Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions.

Funded through the Delta Workforce Grant Program (DWP), the $7 million investment will support projects and initiatives that address the employment and training needs of the local and regional workforce within DRA’s eight-state service area. This year, DRA awarded grants – ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 – to 25 projects benefitting communities in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Bureau of Land Management generated nearly $34 million in total receipts from energy and timber sales held in the second quarter of 2025 – in line with policies championed under the Trump administration. These revenues reflect an ongoing focus on unleashing domestic energy and expanding timber production, supporting job growth, and promoting efficient, streamlined permitting and leasing processes.

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Bureau of Land Management Montana-Dakotas State Office today announced an oil and gas lease sale scheduled for Sep. 10, 2025, to offer 26 oil and gas parcels totaling 8,355 acres in Montana and North Dakota.

The BLM completed scoping on these parcels in March 2025 and held a public comment period that closed in April 2025 on the parcels and the related environmental analysis. A 30-day public protest period to receive additional public input opened today and will close Aug. 8, 2025.

PORTLAND, Ore – The Bureau of Land Management will offer several timber sales in July, totaling about 54 million board feet to be harvested from nearly 1,900 public acres across Western Oregon. Timber produced by these sales will provide critical supplies for construction and other industries, and support jobs across local economies.

"More than 20% of BLM-managed lands are forest and woodland ecosystems. The BLM ensures the health and resilience of these public forest lands as well as the availability of traditional forest products, such as timber,” said BLM OR/WA State Director Barry Bushue. “Timber sales help to improve, maintain, and restore forest health, water quality, and fish and wildlife habitat and to reduce wildfire risk."
