Florence - Pinal County won an important legal victory against an unlawful attempt to override its locally administered election system.
The Court granted relief to Pinal County and stopped Secretary of State Adrian Fontes from enforcing a provision of the 2025 Elections Procedures Manual that exceeded lawful authority, conflicted with Arizona law, and interfered with Pinal County’s precinct-based election model.
The message is clear: Phoenix politicians cannot rewrite Arizona election law or strip local communities of the authority they are granted under state law.
County Attorney Brad Miller said:
“This ruling is a win for the rule of law and for every voter who believes elections should be run lawfully, transparently, and locally.
Pinal County will not stand by while state officials exceed their authority and attempt to interfere with locally accountable elections.
We will continue defending election integrity, local control, and the voters’ right to a process they can trust.”
