Phoenix to Open Splash Pads Early Due to Extreme Heat

With temperatures climbing unusually high for March, the City of Phoenix is taking action to help families stay cool and safe. Several Phoenix Splash Pads, popular warm-weather destinations for children and families, will reopen this Friday, March 20, more than two months ahead of their originally scheduled start date of May 23, 2026, the opening of the summer pool season. To support residents during this period of extreme heat, Splash Pads will operate on a limited weekend schedule until the pool season begins. From March 20 through May 22, Splash Pads will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Once the 2026 pool season officially starts on May 23, Splash Pads will transition to their regular seven-day-a-week operations.
