Governor DeWine Announces 12 Projects Set to Create 1,126 Jobs, More Than $2 Billion in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced the approval of 12 projects that will create 1,126 new jobs and retain 2,686 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $73 million in new payroll and generate over $2 billion in investments across Ohio. CENTRAL AndHealth LLC, city of Columbus (Franklin County), expects to create 75 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $10.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Columbus. AndHealth is a digital health solution that works with the healthcare system to improve access and outcomes for challenging chronic health conditions. AndHealth provides whole-person specialty care and pharmacy in a partnership model that creates greater health equity for patients, lower costs for the healthcare system, and growth for existing partners. The proposed project will accelerate hiring and training of specialized staff needed to meet partner demand and sustain growth, including the creation of local skilled jobs, and ensuring continuity of care for patients. TCA approved a 1.901 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. EdgeConneX, city of New Albany (Licking County), expects to create 32 full-time positions, generating $4 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in New Albany. EdgeConneX is a global data center provider, operating highly proximate, high-powered, purpose-built solutions for customers at any scale. The proposed project includes the construction and operation of a multi-phased data center development. Phase I will convert approximately 525,000 square feet of an existing building into an 80-megawatt data center. A future Phase II proposes to construct two new 72-megawatt facilities to help meet increased demand in the Columbus area. TCA approved a 50 percent, 10-year Data Center Tax Exemption for the project. NORTHEAST LayerZero Power Systems, Inc., city of Streetsboro (Portage County), expects to create 535 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $26.1 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Streetsboro. LayerZero designs and builds power equipment like switches, power panels, and monitoring systems used by technology companies to ensure computers and servers remain powered safely. The proposed project includes an approximately 120,000-square-foot expansion of the existing manufacturing facility to support increased demand. TCA approved a 1.593 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. Prentke Romich Company, Wooster Township (Wayne County), expects to create 60 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $5.1 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion in Wooster Township. Prentke Romich develops and manufactures augmentative communication devices, computer access products, and other assistive technology for adults and children with a wide range of complex communication disorders. The proposed project will reconfigure approximately 28,500 square feet of office space to accommodate an expanding workforce. TCA approved a 1.468 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. Vallourec Star, LP, city of Youngstown (Mahoning County), expects to create 40 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $2.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion in Youngstown. Vallourec Star produces high-quality steel pipe, supplying the Oil Country Tubular Goods market on a global level. The proposed project involves the expansion of current operations to manufacture a newly developed and industrialized production line and meet increased demand from the North American market. TCA approved a 1.126 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. NORTHWEST Engineered Plastic Components (EPC) – Columbia, Inc., city of Fremont (Sandusky County), expects to create 150 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $6.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in Fremont. Engineered Plastic Components manufactures plastic products for various industries including Tier 1 automotive and plastic bed products for the medical industry. The proposed project involves the acquisition of a new facility to expand its current operations to meet increased demand. TCA approved a 1.272 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. Church & Dwight Co., Inc., village of Old Fort (Seneca County), expects to create 40 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion in Old Fort. Church & Dwight develops, manufactures, and markets a range of household, personal care, and specialty products. The proposed project involves the reconfiguration of its current manufacturing facility and upgrades to its rail system to increase its capacity to meet increased demand for its new product line. TCA approved a 1.304 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. The Ohio Art Company, city of Bryan (Williams County), expects to create 53 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $2.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s consolidation project in Bryan. Ohio Art specializes in metal printing/lithography and manufacturing of other tin-based products, specifically for consumer products. The proposed project involves facility upgrades and the purchase of machinery and equipment required to consolidate its operations between Ohio and New Jersey to Ohio. TCA approved a 1.170 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the job. SOUTHWEST Air Transport Services Group, Inc. city of Wilmington (Clinton County), expects to create 48 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $3.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion in Wilmington. ATSG provides air cargo transportation, maintenance, and related services to air carriers and other companies that outsource their air cargo lift requirements. The proposed project includes the expansion of operations at the Wilmington Air park and relocation of key maintenance functions from CVG, including the hiring and training of technicians, facility upgrades and new ground support equipment, driving by growing demand from large customers. TCA approved a 1.338 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. BSI Engineering, LLC, Deerfield Township (Warren County), expects to create 29 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $4.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion in Deerfield Township. BSI provides consulting and design engineering services to industrial manufacturing companies in chemical, renewable fuel, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and other process heavy industries. The proposed project involves relocation and expansion to meet operational needs and attract and retain talent. TCA approved a 1.696 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. Flavor Producers, LLC, city of Sharonville (Hamilton County), expects to create 44 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $3.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion in Sharonville. Flavor Producers, along with their parent company Glanbia Nutritionals, are leaders in flavor development and manufacturing. Flavor Producers utilizes natural, organic, and plant-based flavors and extracts to develop ingredients utilized by other food and beverage manufacturers. The proposed project involves an investment in its new spray drying process to increase capacity at its Sharonville facility and grow its flavoring business. TCA approved a 1.337 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. The Constant Company, LLC, city of Springfield (Clark County), expects to create 20 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in Springfield. The Constant Company is a privately held cloud infrastructure provider offering scalable cloud compute, storage, and networking solutions across 32 global data centers, targeting developers and enterprises with high-performance, cost-effective cloud services. The proposed project includes the construction of a new data center facility to expand operations and meet demand. TCA approved a 50 percent, 10-year Data Center Tax Exemption for the project.
