Gov. Rhoden Now Accepting Applications for Winter/Spring Interns

PIERRE, S.D. – Governor Larry Rhoden and his office are now accepting applications for the Winter 2025/Spring 2026 Internship Program. This internship program provides students with first-hand experiences within state government and the functions of the Governor’s Office. Student interns will work directly with the Governor’s staff on projects centered around their interests and strengths. The projects will allow student interns to work with the Governor’s constituent services team, policy team, general counsel, and communications team. Additional duties may include staffing the Governor, Lt. Governor, and First Lady at events across the state. The length of this in-person internship is negotiable, through the ideal candidate will be available from mid-December through the entirety of South Dakota's legislative session, which runs from January 13 to March 12, 2026. The internship may be extended depending on office needs and students' availability. Those who are interested and would like to be considered for an internship should submit a resume, cover letter, and letter of recommendation to sarah.hitchcock@state.sd.us. Applications should be submitted by Friday, November 14, 2025.
