Issues and Concerns
Gotion Hits New Low
There is a new report that Gotion is seeking additional monetary damages from Green Charter Township over Gotion's failed project. Gotion has reached a new low as it seeks to bankrupt Green Charter Township. The people of Mecosta County, and the State of Michigan have thoroughly rejected it, but it is still trying to hold the town hostage. The CCP-affiliated company will stop at nothing to build a plant that no one wants.
Stopping Insider Trading in Congress
I support the legislation to ban congressional stock trading that was introduced last week. The Stop Insider Trading Act would prohibit Members of Congress and their immediate families from purchasing individual stocks in public companies. Members of Congress are entrusted by the American people to represent them faithfully in Washington D.C. and should not use their position to enrich themselves off insider information. It would be a betrayal of the public to do so otherwise.
City of Big Rapids Fire Truck Project
I secured $378,000 for Big Rapids to purchase a new pumper tanker fire truck. This funding will improve the safety of both the community and our firefighters, ensuring they have the equipment needed to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
