At Lake Pleasant (report courtesy of Sportsman's Warehouse), stripers are busting shad. Bass are shallow currently chasing baitfish and poppers. Try some baitfish imitations on intermediate line. The catfish bite has also continued to remain strong as well. The catfish have also been hitting on night crawlers and stink baits. If you're looking to do more active fishing, then try Senkos, drop shots and skirted jigs for the bass. As for the crappie, the bite has started to pick up with anglers having the best success on 2-inch grubs bounced off the bottom. Crappie fishing in the Agua Fria arm has been good. Try shad or minnows at night around submerged trees and brush. Check water temperatures and conditions that may affect fish habits.

At Roosevelt Lake, angler Steve J. reported, “Hit Roosevelt around 3:00 on Memorial Day. My fishing partner and I caught six between us, but at 5:30-7:30 found a spot where we caught (and released) 35+ fish around 1.5 to 2 pounds (see photo of typical catch in angler posts below). I did hook into a hog, but he shook the hook out right at the edge of the boat. I estimate it was at least 8 pounds.”

At Bartlett Lake, Gary S. and a friend braved the boat traffic on Memorial Day. They ran the main lake mostly - back to coves, points, islands. Counter went up to 39, lost a lot of fish. Topwater, spinnerbaits, crankbaits weren't working. Everything was on the bottom, fish were at about 18-19 feet. Texas rig, drop shot were working - 5150 worms, morning dawn or oxblood, The shad have moved out of shallows and are backing out to the deep water.
